While everything else in the garden was rapidly disappearing through the autumnal stages, I was surprised to see these eccentric looking flowers extrovertly blooming.
They look like little dancing nymphs. I thought, how bold of them to be so celebratory and loud when all around, the leaves are disappearing and darkness is closing in.

I decided to dedicate an artwork with my own depiction of these beautiful vixens sprouting vibrantly against the monochrome background.
So, this piece is about noticing unexpected glimmers of brightness and joy through the darkness.... represented by the dark mix of foliage contrasting with the colourful bursts of pinks and purples.

Additional info

My artwork is created by layering up multiple hand painted textures, pencil, pen, lino stamping and illustrated details.
All of these elements are collaged together. I like to mix traditional and modern techniques to make a unique, semi real /semi fantastical landscape.
