Art to boost the happy chemicals in your Brain!

Good things come in trees!

A new trio of artworks I've just finished. Each is set at a different time of day and features one of the feel-good chemicals that occurs naturally in the brain, to symbolise hope for a happy and brighter future.

Each piece is full of symbolic details, darker at the bottom, to represent the recent times we've all been living through, but then brightening as you go up, with colourful sproutings of flowers, buds and things that glow.

Serotonin Sunrise

Serotonin Sunrise is the first one of my tryptic of florid interpretations of flora, fauna and foliage…..

This one represents the euphoric hypnogogic / hypnopompic states of being half awake and half in a dream …with pink and red flowers bursting with serotonin, for a happy morning mood boost.

Dopamine Daze

Dopamine Daze represents the natural feeling of pure happiness that comes from being surrounded by luscious leafy nature. Featuring colourful dopamine flower-bird-hybrids, for a motivational boost throughout your day!

Oxytocin Evening

..and finally for the evening/night… this time it's the love or cuddle hormone oxytocin, in the form of a newly discovered species of glowing hug bugs, all pouting, and with their arms outstretched just ready to hug! Some are throwing out hearts and kisses...

I created these artworks by layering up many different techniques, with multiple hand painted textures, marker pen doodles, illustrated graphic details and even a bit of lino cutting and stamping, for some of the geometric leaves.
All of these elements are digitally collaged together. I like to mix traditional and modern techniques to make a unique, semi real /semi fantastical landscape.
